In 1945 Joseph Pilates defined the idea of physical fitness as "the attainment and maintenance of a uniformly developed body with a sound mind fully capable of naturally, easily, and satisfactorily performing our many and varied daily tasks with spontaneous zest and pleasure."

Pure Joe supports Pilates' vision of a sound mind and sound body and a method by which to achieve it. We offer instruction in the original system created by Joseph Pilates, and continued by Romana Kryzanowska and her daughter Sari Mejia Santo. We are the only studio in the DC metro area to be certified by these master teachers.

Our mission is to provide our clients with the purest form of Pilates. We are committed to providing only the highest quality instruction to ensure our clients receive all the benefits of the Pilates system.
